overview : This year there is an interesting research observations about activities and spread of influenza viruses. The report comes from Google.org, where the information technology team, in consultation with medical experts, decided to process the data "search query" from the U.S. to see the trend of the spread of influenza.
The number or frequency of keywords about flu and influenza counted every week. The results were compared with the results of surveys CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). Apparently there is a strong correlation between the frequency of these keywords with the number of people experiencing flu-like symptoms. In his blog, the team of Google.org reported:
“Our team found that certain aggregated search queries tend to be very common during flu season each year. We compared these aggregated queries against data provided by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and we found that there’s a very close relationship between the frequency of these search queries and the number of people who are experiencing flu-like symptoms each week. As a result, if we tally each day’s flu-related search queries, we can estimate how many people have a flu-like illness.”There are two interesting things from their research. First, from the comparison between the frequency of keywords and the number of people affected by flu symptoms above, they can estimate how many people are infected with flu-like illness. Second, when compared to the CDC which takes 1-2 weeks to collect and report the spread of influenza, information from Google can be obtained much faster. That is, the Google Flu Trends can be used as an early warning system.
What's in it for me that again this flu? At least I feel I am not alone.
Netherlands
Last November marked fall in the Netherlands. Trees are beautiful revealed the face with colorful foliage. Green, yellow, orange, even red! They create a warm heart when the eye is sweeping view.
However, behind the beauty of this fall, there is something to be aware of: the weather. Sometimes in the morning sun blanketed the bright, but not infrequently wind, cloudy, and rainy days accompanied regularly. Changes in temperature in this season, from warm to cold, making the body had to adapt. As a result, not a weak bodies infected by the flu virus. It is the view of a reasonable if eventually we often see people sneezing and coughing in the season.
While influenza activity in Europe this year down, apparently in the Netherlands and some other countries such as the UK and Ireland are likely to increase. However this is a normal phenomenon.

Flu Correlations
Description Flu Correlations
This app was developed to demonstrate two concepts.
The first is that simple, modular solutions can sometimes produce great yields (think nuclear energy). Consider also that this app can easily be altered to suit any data set, yet was published solely in the interest of Flu awareness.
The second concept is a novel one. The ever-expanding wealth of information available on the internet has yet to be parsed for correlations between media events and consumer health. Tools such as this one seek to turn medical research into an on-the-go, interactive experience that can take place anywhere, anytime, and by anyone."
